What is Energy Saver Smart Thermostat? CPS Energy Smart Thermostat program will give you a FREE Honeywell programmable thermostat and install it for you at no charge. When demand for electricity is at its highest, Smart Thermostat participants agree to let CPS Energy adjust their thermostat during conservation events.


Who can join? All CPS residential customers with central air conditioning or heat pumps are eligible. Homes with window units are not eligible. All homes must be approved prior to installations. Homes with central air conditioner and supplemental window units may be eligible after screening. Homes with more than one unit must include the two largest units in the program.


It is recommended that customers operating child or convalescent care business in their homes please not participate in the program.

I understand that participation in the Energy Saver Smart Thermostat Program allows CPS Energy to cycle my central air conditioner during times of peak demand from May 1st through September 30th each year or during system emergencies.


I understand the thermostat is the property of CPS Energy until the contractual terms of 3 years from the date of installation have been met.


The thermostat can only be removed with the approval from CPS Energy by calling 1-866-222-7645.


I understand the furnace and air conditioner will be inspected by a Honeywell technician prior to the installation of the thermostat to determine if any problem exists that may interfere with the operation of the thermostat or the cycling. The air conditioner must be easily accessible and in proper working order. The inspection does not include diagnostics or repairs.


You can be withdrawn from the program by calling 1-866-222-7645 and requesting removal any time within 90 days of installation.
